About Us

The mission of the Military Veterans Museum and Education Center is to honor our Nation’s military history through education and preservation.

Pictured above are the five founders of the Military Veterans Museum and Education Center. All WWII veterans, they had a dream that someday there would be a museum in the East-Central part of Wisconsin dedicated to telling the stories of our honored Veterans.

In 1990 they formed the non-profit corporation that is MVM, with the first formal Board of Directors meeting conducted in 1991. For a period of time a small museum was run in the Park Plaza Mall (now City Center) located in downtown Oshkosh. The building the museum is currently located in was built in 2009 and opened for visitors in the spring of 2014.

In recent years the museum has developed from what was mainly a museum of military vehicles into a museum that truly tells the stories of our military service veterans. We hope you will come in someday and experience the stories that are our history.
